St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church - Ozark, Missouri
Very happy to attend the Extaordinary Form of the Mass / Traditional Latin Mass today at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church in Ozark, MO. This is a parish in the Springfield - Cape Girardeau Diocese. Small, modern church, however, a reverent Low Mass. Nice to see a young boy receive his First Holy Communion today in this wonderful rite. I was visiting Springfield for a few days so I was so blessed to find out the TLM was available near by. Father Andrew Williams prayed a wonderful Mass. There was a server training session after Mass for boys to learn how to assist in the Traditional Form. I pray there are many who take this training to keep this rite alive.I am so thankful to Father Berg for having the TLM each week at St. Mary’s in Vacaville, CA where I have been a parishioner for the last fifteen years. I just relocated back to the St. Louis area in October 2021. I have been attending the TLM at St. Barnabas in O’Fallon MO. This is a wonderful parish with tons of young people and families with children. St. Barnabas does not have an assigned priest, but they are fortunate to have visiting priests celebrate the TLM each Sunday at 10:00 a.m.
I pray that Archbishop Rozanski will assign a priest or two to serve the wonderful parishioners here full time. I also pray that as Father Berg begins his new assignment in Northern California that Bishop Soto will allow the Latin Mass to continue to grow at St. Mary’s in Vacaville and of course, that Pope Francis will not only relax the restrictions he has placed on the Traditional rite, but encourage it’s growth throughout the world. I believe that returning to tradition is a huge key in growing the Catholic Church.
May the rest of Lent bring blessings to you!
